A) Keep honing oil clean and filtered with 5 micron filter paper.
B) Diamond and CBN honing sticks have to be dressed on cylindrical grinder along with holder for complete contact area.
C) Cork honing sticks are recommended to remove the metal folding which arises after honing with diamond hones.
D) Diamond honing sticks are recommended for Cast Iron application and non ferrous materials. CBN honing sticks are recommended for hardened steel and ferrous materials.
E) Diamond and CBN honing sticks require feeding pressure of 4-9 kg/sq cm, RPM of around 170-200 and stroke speed around 19 mt/min.
F) Coolant pressure should be optimum to flush out slurry at all times.
